Exemption

Unless specific reference is made thereto, no provision of this subtitle shall include or apply to domestic societies which limit their membership to the employees of: 1. A particular city or 2. A designated firm, business house, or corporation.

Power of commissioner

The commissioner of insurance may require from any society such information as will enable the commissioner to determine whether such society is exempt from the provisions of the laws relating to insurance or to fraternal benefit societies.
