Title. This Act shall be known and be cited as the "Personnel Code". (Source: P.A. 81-1000.)
Purpose. The purpose of the Personnel Code is to establish for the government of the State of Illinois a system of personnel administration under the Governor, based on merit principles and scientific methods. (Source: Laws 1955, p. 2208.)
Organization. The Department of Central Management Services, headed by the Director of Central Management Services, shall administer the Personnel Code. There is hereby created a Civil Service Commission. (Source: P.A. 82-789.)
