Terms used in this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, have the meanings ascribed to them in the Sections following this Section and preceding Section 3. (Source: P.A. 98-756, eff. 7-16-14.)
Child. "Child" means any person under 18 years of age. "Child welfare agency" means a public or private child care facility, receiving any child or children for the purpose of placing or arranging for the placement or free care of the child or children in foster family homes, unlicensed pre-adoptive and adoptive homes, adoption-only homes, or other facilities for child car…
"Early care and education center" means any early care and education provider that regularly provides early care and education for (1) more than 8 children in a family home, or (2) more than 3 children in a location other than a family home, including senior citizen buildings. "Early care and education homes" means family homes which receive more than 3 up to a maximum of 12 children for less than 24 hours per day.
