§ 2803.12 What happens to my grant or lease if I die?

(a) If a grant holder dies, any inheritable interest in a grant or lease will be distributed under State law. (b) If the receiver of a grant or lease is not qualified to hold a grant or lease under § 2803.10 of this subpart, the BLM will recognize the receiver as grant or leaseholder for up to two years, subject to full compliance with all terms, conditions, and stipulations. During that period, the receiver must either become qualified or divest itself of the interest.
