The Board shall: 1. Enforce the provisions of this chapter and any regulations adopted pursuant thereto; 2. Prepare and maintain a record of its proceedings, including, without limitation, any administrative proceedings; 3. Evaluate the qualifications and determine the eligibility of an applicant for any registration issued pursuant to this chapter and, upon payment of the appropriate fee, issue the appropriate registration to a qualified applicant; 4. Adopt regulations establishing standards of practice for persons registered pursuant to this chapter and any other regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter; 5. Require a person registered pursuant to this chapter to submit to the Board documentation required by the Board to determine whether the person has acquired the skills necessary to engage in the practice of environmental health; 6. Investigate any complaint received by the Board against any person registered pursuant to this chapter; 7. Hold hearings to determine whether any provision of this chapter or any regulation adopted pursuant to this chapter has been violated; 8. Prescribe by regulation the qualifications required before a person may serve as a hearing officer; and 9. Unless the Board determines that extenuating circumstances exist, forward to the appropriate law enforcement agency any substantiated information submitted to the Board concerning a person who engages in the practice of or offers to engage in the practice of environmental health without the appropriate registration issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
