(1) (a) In every judicial district, the district attorney is authorized to appoint an assistant district attorney who shall be an attorney-at-law admitted to practice within this state and who shall actually have practiced law not less than two years. (b) Repealed. (c) The district attorney in every judicial district having a population not exceeding fifty thousand may appoint one part-time assistant district attorney. Such part-time assistant may engage in the private practice of law. (2) and (3) Repealed.
