If any treasurer dies, resigns, or is removed from office or the treasurer's term of office expires after selling any tax liens on any property for delinquent taxes and before executing a certificate of purchase, certificate of option for treasurer's deed, or treasurer's deed for the same, the treasurer's successor in office shall execute the certificate of purchase, certificate of option for treasurer's deed, or deed in the same manner that the treasurer making the tax lien sale might have done.
