As used in this act: (a) The term "incorporated city" or "city" shall mean any city of any class without regard to its status as a separate township, if such it be, and now or hereafter located within the area originally comprising either Shawnee or Mission townships in Johnson county, Kansas, at the time such township was established; (b) the term "Mission township" shall mean the entire area as originally established, outside incorporated cities and within incorporated cities of any class; (c) the term "Shawnee township" shall mean the entire area as originally established, outside incorporated cities and within incorporated cities of any class; (d) the terms "county commissioners," "county clerk," and "county treasurer" shall mean, respectively, board of county commissioners, county clerk and county treasurer of Johnson county; (e) the terms "board" or "park board," "board of commissioners" or "governing board" shall mean the park and recreation board of commissioners herein provided for; (f) the terms "district," "park district" and "park and recreation district" shall mean the Johnson county park and recreation district herein authorized to be created; (g) the word "park" shall mean not only park but also playground unless by the context playground is not included and the term "park system" shall include the parks and playgrounds of the district.
