A. Except as otherwise provided by law and subject to Code of Civil Procedure Article 5181 et seq., in addition to any other fees or costs provided by law, the clerk of the city court of Leesville shall collect from each person filing any type of civil suit or proceeding, except in the small claims division, a nonrefundable fee in an amount determined by the judge, but not to exceed twenty-five dollars. B. The clerk shall place all funds collected pursuant to this Section in the court's general fund to supplement the operational expenses of the court. The expenditure of funds shall be at the sole discretion of the judge of the court. All funds shall be subject to and included in the court's annual audit. A copy of the audit shall be filed with the legislative auditor who shall make it available for public inspection. C. The assessment and disposition of any funds pursuant to this Section shall not affect the responsibilities of the city and parish governing authorities provided by law for the financing of the city court of Leesville.
