The district may join and pay dues to an organization that: (1) is an organization exempt from taxation under Section 501(a), Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as an organization described by Section 501(c)(3), (4), or (6) of that code; and (2) performs a service or provides an activity consistent with the furtherance of a district purpose.
