(a) In this section, "special prosecution unit" means the special prosecution unit established under Subchapter E, Chapter 41. (b) The inspector general of the department shall on a quarterly basis prepare and deliver to the board of directors of the special prosecution unit a report concerning any alleged criminal offense concerning the department and described by Article 104.003(a), Code of Criminal Procedure, that occurred during the preceding calendar quarter.
