In this chapter: (1) "Commission" means the Texas Ethics Commission. (2) "Complainant" means an individual who files a sworn complaint with the commission. (2-a) "Executive director" means the executive director of the commission. (3) "Political party" includes only a political party required to hold a primary election under Section 172.001, Election Code. (4) "Respondent" means a person who is alleged to have committed a violation of a rule adopted by or a law administered and enforced by the commission.
