(a) The petition prescribed by Section 286.021 may include a request that a proposition be submitted at the election to determine whether the board may issue general obligation bonds if the district is created. The petition must specify the maximum amount of bonds to be issued and their maximum maturity date. (b) Even though the petition does not request submission of a proposition on whether the board may issue general obligation bonds, the commissioners court may, on the request of a petitioner, submit a proposition at the creation election on the issuance of bonds. (c) The board may issue general obligation bonds as provided by Subchapter G if a majority of the votes cast in the election favor creation of the district and issuance of the bonds.
