(a) The board may appoint a hearings examiner to conduct any hearing called by the board, including a hearing required by Chapter 395. The hearings examiner may be an employee or contractor of the district, or a member of the district's board. (b) The hearing shall be conducted in accordance with Chapter 2001, Government Code.
