S. 1220: TO AMEND THE NICKLES, OK AMENDMENT TO S 1220, AIDS RESEARCH AND EDUCATION ACT, TO PROHIBIT USING FEDERAL FUNDS FOR ANY ACTIVITIES OR MATERIALS THAT DIRECTLY "PROMOTE OR ENCOURAGE" HOMOSEXUAL SEXUAL ACTIVITY. THE NICKLES AMENDMENT REQUIRED THAT FEDERAL AIDS PROGRAMS ISSUE WARNINGS OF HIGH-RISK ACTIVITIES, AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY ADOPTED BY VOICE VOTE.
