S.Res. 166: TO TABLE JOHNSTON AMENDMENT TO WEICKER AMENDMENT TO S. RES. 166. THE WEICKER AMENDMNT CALLED FOR THE RULES COMMITTEE TO RETRIEVE, SEPARATE AND REVIEW ALL BALLOTS IN ITS CUSTODY OF A "SKIP-CANDIDATE" TYPE. IN THIS TYPE, THE VOTER HAD MARKED A STRAIGHT PARTY BOX, BUT HAD ALSO CHECKED NAME OF INDIVIDUAL CANDIDATES AND SKIPPED EITHER WYMAN OR DURKIN. THE JOHNSTON AMENDMENT PROVIDED THAT RULES COMMITTEE NOT CONSIDER ANY BALLOT AMONG THOSE APPROXIMATELY 3500 IT HAD ALREADY CONSIDERED.
