S. 1538: TO AMEND S. 1538 BY MAKING THE ENACTMENT OF THE BILL PURSUANT TO A DECISION OF THE COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE THAT THE FEDERAL INVESTIGATION OF TAX CLAIMS IS NO LONGER NECESSARY. THE GRIFFIN AMENDMENT IS A REBUTTAL OF THE POSITION TAKEN BY THOSE SENATORS WHO VOTED AGAINST THE CHAFEE AMENDMENT (SEE RC 311) TO THE BILL.
