S. 2850: TO AGREE TO A MODIFIED AMENDMENT TO S. 2850, THE BILL AMENDING THE OLDER AMERICANS ACT OF 1965 AND EXTENDING ITS AUTHORIZATIONS FOR AN ADDITIONAL TWO YEARS, THROUGH FISCAL YEAR 1980. THE MODIFIED MELCHER AMENDMENT AUTHORIZES THE COMMISSIONER ON AGING TO REIMBURSE ANY STATE FOR UP TO 5% OF ITS MODEL PROJECT FUNDS IF THAT STATE HAD USED SUCH FUNDS FOR THE DELIVERY OF SOCIAL SERVICES DURING A FEDERALLY DECLARED MAJOR DISASTER.
